Auch in diesem Jahr haben wir das Festival wieder mit Kameras begleitet. Zwischen Fahrerlager, Startaufstellung, Strecke und den vielen kleinen Momenten, die ein solches Wochenende ausmachen. Es sind nicht nur die Autos selbst, die diese Veranstaltung prägen. Es sind die Besitzer, die Teams, das Schrauben zwischen den Sessions, das Warten vor der Ausfahrt und dieser kurze Augenblick, wenn ein alter Motor wieder zum Leben erwacht und der Klang eine Gänsehaut am ganzen Körper verursacht.
Der Bilster Berg bietet dafür die perfekte Bühne. Die anspruchsvolle Strecke mit ihren Höhenunterschieden, schnellen Passagen und technischen Abschnitten wirkt wie gemacht für Fahrzeuge, die noch mechanisch, direkt und charaktervoll sind. Hier geht es nicht um sterile Perfektion, sondern um Fahrgefühl, Klang, Bewegung und Respekt vor der Technik.
Das Programm des Oldtimer Festivals vereint verschiedene Facetten der historischen Automobilkultur. Auf der Strecke wechseln sich Gleichmäßigkeitsprüfung, Trackday-Sessions und Demonstrationsfahrten ab. Für uns war die Kamera dabei nicht nur Beobachter, sondern Teil dieser Geschichte. Unser Ziel war es, die Veranstaltung so einzufangen, wie sie sich vor Ort anfühlt: nah, ehrlich und atmosphärisch. Die schnellen Momente auf der Strecke sind nur ein Teil davon. Genauso wichtig sind die ruhigen Bilder dazwischen. Hände auf warmem Blech, Sonnenlicht auf alten Lacken, kurze Blicke im Fahrerlager und die kleinen Details, die ein Fahrzeug erst lebendig machen.
Besonders schön am Oldtimer Festival ist, dass hier nicht nur Museumsstücke gezeigt werden. Viele Fahrzeuge werden genau so genutzt, wie es ihrer Geschichte entspricht: fahrend, klingend, arbeitend. Dadurch entsteht ein anderer Zugang zur automobilen Vergangenheit. Man sieht nicht nur Formen und Daten, sondern erlebt, warum diese Autos Menschen bis heute faszinieren. Für GRAND PRIX RACING CLUB ist genau das der Kern solcher Veranstaltungen. Motorsport und Automobilkultur bestehen nicht nur aus Ergebnissen oder perfekten Bildern. It is a weekend where classic cars, modern classics, racing technology, and passion don’t exist in isolation, but come together to be experienced both on and off the track.
Once again this year, we documented the festival with our cameras—capturing everything from the paddock, the starting grid, and the track itself to the many small moments that define a weekend like this. It isn’t just the cars themselves that shape the event; it’s the mechanics, the teams, the time between sessions, the wait before heading out, and that fleeting instant when an old engine roars back to life and the sound sends shivers down your spine.
Bilster Berg provides the perfect stage for this. With its elevation changes, high-speed stretches, and technical sections, the challenging circuit seems tailor-made for vehicles that are still mechanical, direct, and full of character. This isn’t about sterile perfection; it’s about the driving experience, the sound, the movement, and a respect for the engineering.
The festival program brings together various facets of historic automotive culture. On the track, regularity runs, track day sessions, and demonstration laps alternate. Meanwhile, in the paddock, a unique little universe takes shape—a mix of classic cars, sports cars, race machines, toolboxes, conversations, and the scent of gasoline. Add to that vintage car meets, a road tour, a vendor area, and the chance to experience motorsport up close.
For us, the camera was not merely an observer but part of the story. Our goal was to capture the event exactly as it feels on-site: intimate, authentic, and atmospheric. The high-speed moments on the track are only one part of the picture; the quiet moments in between are just as important. Hands resting on warm bodywork, sunlight catching aged paint, quick glances exchanged in the paddock, and the small details that truly bring a vehicle to life.
One of the best things about the festival is that it showcases far more than just museum pieces. Many vehicles are used exactly as their history intended: driving, making noise, and working. This creates a different kind of connection to automotive history. You don’t just see shapes and specifications; you experience why these cars continue to fascinate people to this day.
